Your sketch from your porch makes me want to sit on my porch with Buddy, Baby Dots, maybe even Bob if she'd like to grace us with her presence. I'd like to listen to the the breeze blow through the trees and feel the sun on my face. It's exceptionally beautiful today after a night rain and thunderstorms.

I'm thinking of Transcendental writers today. I think I'll pick up my Emerson book and sit on my porch with Buddy and Baby Dots. Thanks for the push. Your poem/sketch/beautiful words did their job.

heck yes, thats right, i believe in science... darwin, kellog, Bill Ni (the science guy) an ongoing curriosity to figure things out, how they work, what they're made up of, why they are the way they are and how they came to be.

very appropriate tunage additions. "Tougher Than It Is" has some serious things to say. sick photos and interesting thoughts on life and wonder. just as you said, so often we spend so much time following "IT" that we fail to recognize the awesomeness of life itself. its true, ideas are all we've got, keep sharing your thoughts

Ambition
To change the Consciousness of Humanity.
"Sketch from the porch 08.07.07"

The air conditioner hums gurgles and spits
making the air outside just a bit heavier.
Cars crumble up their drive
Slam! crunch crunch.
Some mumbling off in the distance,
All barely intelligible with the din of
the world raging about.
Streets zoomed upon
sounding as if fighter planes have
flown a bit too low,
The chatter of a jack hammer;
However, to the calm ear
above it-- all the industrial () clanging din
of the modern world--
is the ever faint rustle of the trees
mingling with the chirpity chirp of
the birds amongst their leaves.

The ebb and flow of tree to tree
breeze weaving in and out
a pleasant reminder
BLEEP! The world of ASAP imposes,
"I need," "What up?" "guess who I
f*cked last night?"
"You're so beautiful girl."
As if the singer of such belligerence
knew what Beauty was.
Perhaps at a moment in Life, but
that moments long gone and any recollection
stifled by the industrial Bleep!
absurdity of the modern world.

People laugh knowing not what
for, and cry for not having gotten;
Yet lives fall face down in the
sands of Arabia or shrivel in the
Sahara sun and no one but the
buzzards seem to care.

What a world this is
suffocated and stifled by the
industrial, technological din of the
modern world.

So many have forgotten, if they ever knew,
the calm which comes from the stillness of a
breeze through the trees
while the birds sing and song
undaunted by the industrial, negligible,
forgettable, not worth noticing din
of the modern world.

If only we were as wise.

A Call to Arms...

A call to arms, linked arm in arm in solidarity for nothing more than the common cause of Humanity.

So I've been a bit absent from Ambition as of late, and for that I apologize. In light of this I've been no less ambition. Just swamped with a new endeavor in Life, mainly reading a shit load in a new course of study I started this fall in what I will on most days argue is one of the most amazing cities in America, NYC.

My present reason for writing is I'd like to start having… Continue

Please Read!

To everyone here, and anyone you ever meet please pass on this title:

Confessions of an Economic Hit Man

Some may chalk it up as conspiritorial speak; however, I see it as a very eye opening account of how Big Business and it's methods employed have taken hold of the world in creating a narcissistic, greedy world view that has and continues to plague us.

Some Ancient Wisdom; yet, as with wisdom is quite relevant to today.

The Father and His Sons

A father had a family of sons who were perpetually quarreling among themselves. When he failed to head their disputes by his exhortations, he determined to give them a practical illustration of the evils of disunion; and for this purpose he one day told them to bring him a bundle of sticks. When they had done so, he placed the faggot into the hands of each of them in succession, and ordered them to break it in pieces. They tried with all the

Has everyone gone MAD!?!?

While doing the little I do to keep tabs on the "Real World" (for fear of becoming supremely depressed with the state of affairs in the world) I was floored at how INSANE everyone seems to be.

As a caveat, I'm a pacifist. I see no need and or reason for violence. War has solved nothing. Every war, even the "just wars" have done nothing but reek havoc on Humanity and give a temporary end to certain turmoils, while adding to so many others. Once the brief period of euphoria passes when t… Continue

Not so much a response to Professor X's post about music but some thoughts...

This is not so much a response to Professor X's post about music, but some thoughts I had while journaling this afternoon stressing about Life and the state of the World.

...Ahh, how my thoughts and apprehensions betray my willingness to Live. Why is it so easy to let Angst overwhelm you? It is exactly what the Powers-that-Be in a purely human manner want: to stifle the Will-to-Live of anyone attempting to Live on their own terms with the people they Love and the things that make Life… Continue
