Ambition

Share your passion, be ambitious, follow your dreams.

We all have problems - this is a fact - and nobody's problems are of lesser or greater importance than the next persons. Everyone is rushing for that quick fix, to be able to continue living the life that is causing them pain, and have everything get better on it's own without having to put any work into it. Nobody wants to deal with their issues, they'd rather sweep it all under some proverbial rug. So how should we - being the new generation - work to change this? How about society tries something new for a change? How about instead of eluding our problems, we face them straight on. SCENARIO A: Feelings: You have sad feelings? Solution: Take a Percocet, don't think about whats really bothering you. SCENARIO B: Feelings: So you have sad feelings? Question: Why do you feel sad? Problem: Oh, you say you're a workaholic who can't find a way to balance your work with your family and your friends? And ontop of that you have thse unfullfilled adventures you never had the chance to experience? Solution: Instead of clogging your mind with antidepressants, start looking for a new job that is more flexible and is something you feel passionate about. Take your family on a camping trip and make it a point to be home for dinner almost every night. Plan a personal vacation and do something you've always wanted to do, go on safari, backpack Europe, take a sailing trip with the boys, or go on a Buddhist hiking retreat. Above all find time for yourslelf. Work on your life to make it what you want it to be, instead of taking a pill and expecting things to magically improve themselves. The world would be a better place if we all thought like this whenever troubles arise. Recognize our feelings, discover why we feel that way, make a plan to solve our problems, and execute that plan. Merely talking about our problems and our feelings isn't quite enough. But to do something about it, to confront our problems, our life, really, truly leads to self-realization and improvement.
